Good News?

Taylor had a follow-up visit with the doctor today. After a second x-ray, the doctor now says that he does not see a fracture but he does have a major sprain. The crutches can go away in the next few days and he gets to wear a fancy (and quite expensive) ankle brace for a while. Also, in addition to the physical therapy that he is getting on his knee three times a week, he will also have to get physical therapy on the ankle three times a week for the next 4-6 weeks. And no basketball for that amount of time either.

Taylor has had knee issues for several years now. Lately we have also been dealing a degenerating tendon in his left knee. Here is a picture of him just a week or so ago.

Here is a picture of him now. What happened in between.... After an accident at basketball practice this past Tuesday, he now has a fractured ankle on the same leg as the knee problem.

This was Tuesday night.

This was Thursday.

Friday.
He is taking physical therapy with ultrasound treatment for the knee three times a week and will be on crutches with the ankle for 6-8 weeks.
Oh boy!

An Owl, A Birthday, and A Fort

A few weeks ago, this barn owl flew right in front of me while I was going down the road close to where we live. He flew up and sat in this tree. Of course, I had to stop and take a picture! I had never seen one outside of the zoo (only heard them up in these trees).

Taylor celebrated his 16th birthday last Sunday. We took him to eat at the NEW Olive Garden and then headed home to eat the birthday cake that he picked out.

Then a few days later, this is where he went!

And yes, he did get his license!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now on to the unfinished fort. Brian took off work several days to be with the boys while they are on Spring Break and he and Thomas did manage to get some more work done.
Thomas painting the walls before they go up and then he is going to add more paint to make them camouflage.
Photo catch up
Look at Zaida's nice big (deer leg-bone) treat that she found in the woods a few weeks ago. She was so proud and came running to show me her treasure.
There was a deer "shin-dig" out by the pond.
Last weeks snow.
Baseball on Friday.
Oliver enjoying the beautiful weather over the past weekend.
This was only the second time EVER for Ellie Mae to go outside. (She is an indoor kitty) She loved hanging out with Zaida.
Basketball fun on Sunday afternoon.
